Imagine the lasting value this kind of community can create. This is the future, either by necessity or choice. Locally and naturally grown food is key to the future of neighborhood life and The Farmstead offers this and more...

The Farmstead has approximately 15 acres of dedicated, bio-intensive, professionally farmed land that will provide fruits and vegetables to the neighborhood, as well as within the region, providing a source of revenue for the HOA. The site plan provides for small scale professional farming operations including a Farmer's Market facility for Farmstead produce that may also host surrounding local growers.

Additionally, all house lots have the option to participate in the Steward Farm program that allows residents to host a “micro-farm” tended by a professional farmer – this produce would be added to the general farm enterprise for sale and/or eaten at home. The residents can “dig-in” with the farming as much or as little as they wish. A sliding scale for revenue sharing will account for the amount of land, time, and produce contributed. Bottom line - you are stewarding your land productively.

The Farmstead's greatest draw is local, naturally grown food for residents that provides not only great nutrition but a secure food supply offering the confidence that you know where your food comes from. This principle is not exclusive to other ecological and sustainable practices that make good neighborhoods and real estate property great. An extensive trail system circulates the rolling property and doubles as farm access to Steward Lots. Green building techniques and energy saving systems are incorporated into every home. Additionally, passive and active solar design guidelines included in the covenants encourage sustainable living practices.
