	Your yard can be the first point in the local food supply chain! You can choose to be a good steward of your land by providing on average 250 to 500 calories per square foot of organic cultivation for around the cost of traditional landscape services.  Any backyard, and even portions of fronts and sides, can be a Steward Farm.This 7000 square foot lot has 1950 square feet - or 780,000 calories - of edible landscape!  That represents a third of total annual USDA recommended calories for a family of three.

For land planning and design layout of residential, commercial, mixed use communities, Agriburbia™ means using specific design criteria and guidelines to incorporate agriculture, food production, and sustainable concepts in the community.  This includes modification of standards and guidelines in the community codes and regulations and HOA bylaws where necessary; as well as development of municipal districts that promote agriculture, food production, alternative energy sources, and other sustainable concepts.
